Crafting Abstract Botanical Pendants for Luxury Retail
When acclaimed design firm Design Clarity approached our engineering team to realise their sculptural vision for the new Lily Nails Spa & Beauty in Westfield, White City, we undertook a project demanding an exceptional fusion of industrial artistry, precision metal fabrication, and advanced LED miniaturization.
The brief called for translating conceptual botanical sketches into three monumental, abstract lily-shaped pendant luminaires against the exacting programme of a flagship retail launch. Working in parallel with specialist metal fabricators, Architape mapped out the structural geometry, internal wire routings, and optical mounting details before in-house assembly and integration began.
3mm Micro COB Seamless Contouring
The primary technical hurdle was illuminating the compound radii of the steel petals without visible diodes, extrusions, or cabling clutter.
We specified Opaline Flex S Micro—an ultra-slender 3mm flexible COB (Chip-on-Board) continuous phosphor line. Meticulously bonded directly along the inner petal reveals, it delivers a continuous, dot-free halo of warm, flattering illumination that transforms the salon into an ethereal sanctuary.
A Glowing Luminous Canopy
Suspended from a concealed central structural hub, the three luminous blossoms float overhead like unfurling petals.
High Color Rendering Index (CRI 90+) ensures accurate visual presentation of beauty treatments and nail palettes, seamlessly harmonising ambient artistic drama with commercial functionality.
